All About The Maker by Alice Scott
Hello, I'm Alice Scott. My life’s been a series of whirlwinds, pulling me from Italy and spinning me through a convoluted maze of experiences. I was married to an English film director, his troubles shaping our path. We found ourselves in Catalonia during times of war, a chapter I’d rather not revisit. I'm convinced The Maker orchestrated much of this chaos between Como and Girona, although his reasons remain a mystery.
Later, I sought solace in Hollywood, where my husband and I raised our daughter, our little American girl, Hope. She's my world, and if The Maker hears me, I implore him to keep his distance from her.
A psychologist named J.P. helped me in Hollywood, but I knew my respite there would be short-lived. The Maker always ensures I’m on the move.
The chase eventually led me to the Maker, after a wild expedition across the globe, from Australia and New Zealand to England and briefly, the Scottish Republic and Northern Ireland. It was an arduous journey—I felt like I lost my husband, if not entirely, at least in spirit, along the way.
Finally, in Geneva, Switzerland, I confronted The Maker. He claims to be old, existing in the year 2021, and insists I’m merely a figment of his imagination. Our arguments have been relentless ever since.
I grapple with the cruelty of the stories he's woven about me since I left Milan. Despite nearing the end of 2023, I’m no closer to understanding his motives. He hints at new plans, mentioning Italy and even the French Alps—I adore the Alps!
The future looks grim—technology spiraling out of control, environmental crises escalating, and political turmoil rampant. Amidst this chaos, I hold onto Hope, my beacon. Without hope, I believe we’re all doomed.
My journey is a relentless paddle against the currents, seeking answers and striving to hold onto hope in a world teetering on the edge of uncertainty.
